Volunteer for us
We are very grateful for any volunteers of help either for our pantry or foodbank operations, as we are always in need of helpers. Please do email us on info@meadowsfoodbankandpantry.org.uk for further information. Volunteers are asked to sign up to a regular session and attend at least 3 out of 4 sessions per month where possible. Typical tasks which a volunteer may help with include:
- Helping sort new food coming into the foodbank warehouse by dating and storing items.
- Help sort donations of clothes.
- Help pre-prepare food parcels for guests from the food warehouse.
- Serve tea, coffee, and biscuits in the café area.
- Meet with foodbank guests to go through their food requirements, identify their needs, and ensure they are accessing the right advice and support. Engage in friendly, informal conversation.
- Check Pantry members in electronically and take cash and card payments.
- Assist members shopping in the Pantry and help restock shelves as needed.
- Help with tidying and minimal cleaning up after sessions.
- Help “behind the scenes” with administrative operations, raising awareness & donations for the foodbank, IT support and Christmas gift initiatives.
Please do come and join us!!!!
